Willow Stake Planting at Bayview

Join The Wetlands Conservancy on Saturday, November 15th from 10-12:30pm for an exclusive peek at Bayview Wetland with neighbors, partners, and friends of the land. We'll begin with a walk along this forested estuary, and together we'll discuss tidal wetland ecology, coastal beaver activity, and hopefully spot plenty of mushrooms and wildlife! Then, we’ll emerge along the water’s edge and plant hundreds of willow stakes in the soft mud. The willow will feed beavers and stabilize soil as the water levels rise this winter season.

This event is free and all equipment is provided, but you may want to bring a pair of binoculars or a plant ID book if you have a special interest. Participants in the tour may need to navigate uneven terrain, but attendees are also welcome to just hang out under the tents for birdwatching and chatting. Bayview is located east of Waldport on the Central Oregon coast.
