Sparrowhawk Native Plant Sale

TWC relies on the support and community engagement of so many partners, businesses, volunteers, etc. These superstars are a big piece of how we get the important stewardship work done on most of our preserves.

The latest superstar we want to highlight is Sparrowhawk – a women-owned, Portland based nursery that provides native plants for local backyards and conservation projects. TWC staff have volunteered at various plant sales in the past, and this year Sparrowhawk approached us about being a partner on their spring plant sale, happening in February! Nikkie West and Tracey Cozine are the owners of Sparrowhawk and they believe strongly in local action having global impacts. Nikkie and Tracey have a strong commitment to conservation and preservation and use their business to help support those efforts as well as organizations working in those areas.

“At Sparrowhawk we believe that gardening can be revolutionary. We believe our yards are the landscape of an uncharted future - a future that is rooted in community and support for all living things. We believe that anything is possible as long as we preserve the ecosystems that sustain us”.

TWC is partnering with Sparrowhawk for their annual spring plant sale this year. Plants go on sale February 25 th and can be picked up April 19-20 at Leaven Community Center in NE Portland. There are also lots of opportunities to volunteer with TWC during the plant pick up. Look for more information and to sign up for shifts here: http://tinyurl.com/4yv73zpz
